    The Case For A Creator

    Case For A Creator
    Lee Strobel

    WHITE-COATED SCIENTISTS VERSUS BLACK-ROBED PREACHERS

Strobel really captures the prevailing atmosphere revolving around the argument between Creator versus Evolutionary theories.  Chapter one picks up in 1974 with Strobel's firsthand account as a journalist covering a "textbook war" started over the secular content in public school textbooks being used in West Virginia.

    The Case For A Creator

THE CASE FOR A CREATOR thoroughly covers all credible (and some not so credible) scientific theories related to the creation of our universe and how we have arrived to the point in time that we are now existing.

Chapter 3 consists of Strobel's interview with Jonathan Wells regarding Darwinism.  Wells' presents an intriguing and convincing discussion of the issues revolving around Darwinism.  With PhDs from UC Berkeley and Yale University, Wells has no lack of education or professional credibility in this arena.

Chapter 4 faces the issue of how the worlds of science and faith overlap and interact.  In this interview with Stephen C. Meyer, the relationship between the Big Bang and general relativity theory and creatio ex nihilo is closely examined.  Meyer expounds on the differences between "fideism", or the ability to believe in a Creator only through faith, and a more modern form of practical reasoning that we use in life all the time.  This practical reasoning allows us to discriminate between the competing hypotheses by evaluating their explanatory power.

Chapter 5 covers the evidence of cosmology.  Strobel interviews William Lane Craig who provides an introduction and thorough evaluation of the kalam theory of our origins.  Craig successfully discusses these basic philosophical concepts in a way to allow readers previously unversed to fully grasp their presentation.

Chapter 6 consists of an interview with Robin Collins discussing the infinite complexity of our known universe.  Collins employs many fascinating illustrations to aid in grasping the incredible complexity and underlying physics in the world we live.
