    The Illuminati - Larry Burkett

    The Illuminati
by Larry Burkett is a fast moving, "end of times"-type, Christian fiction novel that I would confidently recommend to anyone--Christian and non-Christian, alike--who enjoys a good fictional read.

It was originally written in the early '90s, but the version I read has been updated in 2004 to make some of the references to technology in the book a little more current.

The writing is excellent in this book.  Readers should easily distinguish the difference between this and other recent books written seemingly for the purpose of capitalizing off of a money opportunity.

No plot spoilers here, but I will say that the book didn't always go where I expected it to.  Burkett uses a well-developed plot to avoid over-stretching some of the would-be fantastical ideas the story revolves around (read: futuristic novel without flying cars).

If you have read The Illuminati and have other good Christian fiction reads similar to it, please post them here.  I would love to find more Christian action/suspense novels of this caliber.
